We packed up and hit the road for a road trip up to Vancouver for a bridal event at the Brock House. We spent our free time the day before doing what we love. Wandering the city, taking photos, and eating up all the delicious food this city has to offer. Funny thing is, for as much as Vancouver is known to be a foodie’s paradise, it took us a while to realize we got stuck in only going to our favorite Japanese restaurant, Guu, for dinner. We finally ventured out and found an amazing restaurant, Chambar, in Gastown (and had Guu for lunch instead :). Highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area! We were so in a trance with the cocktails, ambiance, and each other’s company that we forgot to look at the dinner menus for almost an hour. And this never happens, us being oinkers and all. Can’t get over how tasty everything was from a cocktail made with…wait for it…duck… fat. Yep, you heard that right and I’m still in awe of how one would come up with such a unique, creative mix. Ooh and the scallop was out of this world! It was probably a good thing we walked around the city all day before this calorie loaded meal.

Walking hand in hand on crisp fall days with golden leaves scattered around always brings me back to the first year we met. I love how it only takes a breeze, time of year, or smell to bring you back to a special time in your life. And I love that fall is all about layers so I made sure to bundle up. Except part of me is still clearly clinging on to the remnants of Summer since I wore a skirt but I did add tights to keep warm! Actually, don’t tell anyone but this is a skort. A skirt that is actually shorts. Kind of like a spork, a spoon and fork combo. (I secretly think it’s fun combining two words together, hence Jinda 🙂 I also added a chunky scarf I picked up at H&M during a recent weekend trip to Portland to keep warm and couldn’t stop raving about how cozy it was. I liked that it was a lot wider so it can double up as a small throw (which I took on our flight to San Francisco last week). Gotta love multi functional pieces! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Jin was a bit bummed when he realized I didn’t pack the black dress I originally planned to wear to a Portland Bridal event last weekend, Committed (which by the way was so much fun-blog on that soon!) I threw some options out on the bed and opted to go a bit more casual with this outfit since Portland seems to be a pretty laid back city. I went with the leather jacket to add a casual edge. It was a lottery find for me as finding a (faux) leather jacket has been a never ending search. There always seems to be something off or the price tag is through the roof so I was excited when I came across this one last winter!

As we headed out the door, camera ready in hand, Jin insisted that we take some shots in the hallway of the Ace Hotel we were staying at. We stayed here for the first time during my birthday and had to come back! It has Portlandia, vintage and hipster oozing from every inch of the surface. By the way, I just learned from Urban Dictionary that hipsteria is an excessive, uncontrollable fear of hipsters so if this is you, might not enjoy this place so much! Back to my story, he suggested that I go towards the corner (but I thought no one puts baby in the corner?) All kidding aside, it was cute to see how much he wanted to take some shots even though we were in a bit of a rush to head out. And once again I was able to find every piece online, woohoo! Happy Thursday!

One of my favorite things about San Francisco has always been their shopping. Okay, I love pretty much everything about San Francisco equally. I feel lucky to have a sister who gets to enjoy it every day so I can visit pretty regularly and feel like a faux local for a few days. The clothing stores always seem to have more selection and style compared to Seattle, even if you’re trying not to break the bank.

During a routine shopping trip to a few boutiques in Noe Valley earlier this year, I picked up this dress. I almost thought I wouldn’t get a chance to wear it until next year but the sun peeked out just enough for this to sneak its way out of the closet. And to my surprise, I was able to find it online for the ladies who are interested! I paired it with neutral heels I picked up at the Rack a few years ago which are surprisingly comfortable and decided to go with a statement necklace since everything else was pretty low key and simple. I mentioned that I’m a sucker for open back dresses and that’s pretty much what caught my eye on this one. I have to admit, the highlight of my day so far is being able to find all of these pieces online to share with you. Cheers to the little things in life!

P.S. The link I was able to find for the shoes was a feature on Polyvore, an awesome style site, since I purchased them several years ago. Beware, entering website may lead to increased temptation, dilated pupils, and excessive drooling.

We ended up on a little “window” shopping trip last weekend (is it still considered window shopping if that was your intention but you ended up buying something?) There was a huge magnet attached to the Free People store that lassoed me in and lured me into la la land soaking up all the pretty things around me. Making my way into the default sale section, I immediately fell in love with this dress. To top it off, the ultra light material makes it super comfortable which is a must for me. Free People has it down on going outside of the box with the little details just enough and the fabric in this dress makes it a piece out of the ordinary.

I paired this light-palette with a beige wedge sandal, my go-to comfortable heel (also currently on sale, score!) This may just be the last fall day we see hit the 70’s and the last time this dress comes out of the closet for the next eight months but I’m glad we took the effort to take it out on a play date while it lasted!

Fashion, interior, and architecture design are a few things that get us wide-eyed and giddy like pizza day in grade school. So when Product Runway came to us to capture some of the amazing creations at this year’s competition, we were game. These extremely talented teams made up of interior and architect firms used interior materials (think carpet and ceramic tiles) to construct runway-ready fashion pieces that strutted down the runway vying for the annual’s best-of award. And the judges must’ve had a tough time this year as each outfit was just as incredibly hand crafted as the next. Pumped with adrenaline, we set these fashionable pieces of art against the perfect light just outside the venue, shooting against time minutes before the models hit the runway. Congrats to all who participated and the winner (the silver bird-like outfit with the cape)!

You can also check out 2011’s Product Runway models here.

UPDATE: Premium print ordering is now available through our shopping cart site here. Btw, if you like our Facebook page, then you are just simply awesome and we thank you as you’re helping us grow our audience and reach!
